How this website evolved and came to be

I initially bought my domain name and set up this account back in September of 2014 after I learned that my model application to Grooby had been accepted and that I had a shoot scheduled. That in itself is a story and will be covered in an upcoming post!

At that point I was pretty much clueless about how the porn industry worked and what I needed to do to give myself the best opportunity to be successful, but I did know enough to realize I’d need a website. So, after doing some research I found a web-hosting service which offered the features I wanted and seemed to be pretty user friendly and I felt would work well for me. So off I set trying to design my site and figure out how to navigate through the myriad of features and options. Those of you who know me at all know that I’m not the most tech savvy person, and there were lots of moments of frustration and having to start over and redo things. But eventually I got it figured out and made progress in getting the site to look like what I had envisioned.

And then, in a rare moment of clarity, it finally occurred to me that it might be a good idea to check to see whether or not adult content was allowed on this company’s sites. And of course, it was not. Shit. So, I considered all my options, such as if I might be able to sneak some adult content on my site but somehow manage to lay low and not have the web-hosting company find out. But, given my luck, the chances of that happening were about zilch. So, things came to a crashing halt while I tried to figure out how to proceed.

In the meantime, I did my shoot with Grooby and started learning how things worked in the industry, and began focusing on building up my fan base using social media, so I spent a lot of time on Twitter and Facebook. And I do mean a LOT of time!! And the website kind of got put on the back burner, where it sat for months.

Then I had my phone interview with Venus Lux at the beginning of March, and talking with her got me thinking about my site and sort of rekindled my interest in getting it up and running. I now had a different vision for what I wanted this site to be and the direction I wanted to go with it. So, I pretty much gutted all the original content and started from scratch, building it with a new purpose in mind.

The original idea had been to focus on adult content – blogging and posting pictures to generate interest and move my career forward; to put the emphasis on sex. But given the limitations I had to work with that wasn’t possible, hence why it sat dormant all these months. My new vision for this site is vastly different for many reasons, mostly because I have learned so much since that time, and because my career is somewhat established which has afforded me more options. I am in talks with the folks at Grooby about having my own porn site with them, so that opens up all sorts of options for this site.

So, this site is going to be where I can blog and post things that give people a better idea of who I am, both in and out of porn; to see a different side of me. And I’m really excited about this and all the possibilities it has! This is my baby and I’m going to have fun with it and see where it goes!

While I’m not too thrilled with the lack of options for making the site more ascetically pleasing, it’s more about being able to share my writing and pictures and interact with all of you, so I guess for now I can deal with the fact that the site is so bare-bones and blah looking. But it’s my hope that this is only temporary and that in the near future there will be a more presentable format which will be more pleasing to look at.

So, that is how this site came to be, and how it ended up the way it did.

Thanks for reading, and I would love to know your thoughts, so please be sure to leave a comment!
